A month ago, the SAFF U-19 Women's Tournament was
postponed. The SAFF U-16 Women's Tournament has been postponed anew. The event
was supposed to take place in the last week of August. Although Bangladesh
hosted the U-19 women's tournament, it did not host the U-16.
Golam Rabbani Chotan, head coach of the Bangladesh
national women's football team, sees the decision as normal. "Hopefully
these tournaments will resume if the situation is favorable. We are waiting for
that."
Chotan is now busy with the national team to qualify for
the Asian Cup. Bangladesh hosted its own group to qualify for the Asian Cup.
AFC has taken the initiative to hold the match at a neutral venue amid the Coronavrus
situation.
Bangladesh is planning to play two friendly matches in
Nepal before the qualifiers in September.
This year's SAFF also has a game in the men's
under-stage. The schedule for the SAFF U-15 men's football is in October. The
national team's SAFF championship has now shifted from September to October. It
is difficult for SAFF to hold two tournaments in the same month.
