With
the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections looming, there is a lot of buzz in
the cricket arena of the country. In the last month's AGM meeting, the current
board president Nazmul Hasan Papon indicated not to run for president.
Within
24 hours, he retracted his statement. At the last board meeting under the
current board on Tuesday (September 21), BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon spoke
again in the old tone.
Papun
said he has no desire to be president, but no one wants to compete with him. No
one is interested in challenging him for the highest position in the BCB.
He
said, ‘If I stay here, one thing seems to be that no one will stand in this
position until I die. Let everyone who comes on board challenge me. No one
says! That's not a good thing. Nothing should be stuck for anyone. '
However,
the current head of the board said that he has no problem remaining in the post
of a director if others want. At the same time, he said that he did not have any
panel of his own in the election.
"I
don't have a panel," he said. If I win there, I will become a director.
Then there will be my first application. I don't want to be president. "
Just
as national team cricketers have a pipeline, Nazmul Hasan wants the BCB leadership
to have a pipeline ready.
