All members of the Bangladesh national cricket team and support staff have tested negative for Covid-19 ahead of their preparation camp in Oman for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury confirmed the matter to the media today (3 Oct).

Mahmudullah and his teammates will depart Dhaka for Oman at 10:45 pm tonight (Sunday) to compete in the World Cup qualifiers. They will be quarantined in their accommodation for one day after arriving in Oman on Monday. The Tigers' corona samples were taken earlier in the day on Saturday.

After completing their IPL duties, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and bowler Mustafizur Rahman will immediately join the Bangladesh team. Members of the international coaching staff will fly in from their home nations to Oman.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh's opener Liton Das and his wife traveled for Oman on September 30.

Before the qualifying round begins, Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches against Sri Lanka and Ireland. The two matches will take place in Abu Dhabi on October 12 and 14.

To qualify for the Super 12s, Bangladesh will have to play the first round. On October 17, they will play Scotland in their first qualifying encounter.

Bangladesh is pitted against Scotland, Oman, and Papua New Guinea.
