Scotland defeated Papua New
Guinea by 17 runs in their second match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021
qualifiers, making it two wins in a row.
On Tuesday, Scotland scored
165 runs in 20 overs at Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) in Al
Amerat, Oman, owing to Richie Berrington's excellent innings of 70 runs
(October 19).
Berrington scored 70 runs off
49 balls, including six boundaries and three overs.
Mathew Cross, the
wicketkeeper-batsman, scored 45 runs off 36 balls, including two boundaries and
as many over boundaries.
Calum MacLeod had ten runs,
and Michael Leask had nine. George Munsey had 15 runs, Calum MacLeod had ten,
and Michael Leask had nine.
Papua New Guinea scored 148
runs in 19.3 overs, losing all of their wickets.
Norman Vanua hit 47 runs off
37 balls, while Simon Atai hit 24.
Assad Vala, the captain, and
Kiplin Doriga, the wicketkeeper, both scored 18 runs.
Chad Soper had 16 runs while
Lega Siaka had nine.
