Bangladesh could not come out from the vicious circle of defeat as they lost to West Indies by only three runs in the Super 12 match of ICC T20 World Cup on Friday.

The Tigers just could not handle the mounting pressure as West Indies bowlers kept on tightening the noose which eventually put Bangladesh out of the game.

After a poor show against England in the previous game, Bangladesh made two changes to their side.

Nurul Hasan and Nasum Ahmed made way for Soumya Sarkar and Taskin Ahmed.

Mahmudullah won the toss and sent the opposition to have a bat.

Bangladesh successfully managed to restrict West Indies in the power play as Mahedi Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman make early inroads through the Caribbean batting order.

But in the middle, Roston Chase (39) and Nicholas Pooran (40) gave West Indies some stability but it was Jason Holder who hit two sixes in the last over against Mustafiz who took the momentum away.

Kieron Pollard finished the West Indian innings in style with a six, taking the total to 142-7.

Bangladesh made a change on top, Shakib Al Hasan went to start the chase with Mohammad Naim.

But the trick did not work as Shakib managed only nine runs from 12 balls as his new role of an opening batsman.

Naim tried to continue but he was bowled by Holder after scoring 17 runs from 19 balls.

Liton Das, who was pushed down the order for his bad form; scored 44 runs from 43 balls that gave the Tigers some hope.

Soumya managed only 17 runs before giving a catch to Chris Gayle against Akeal Hossain.

Mushfiqur Rahim (8) tried to improvise once again and found the clever delivery by Ravi Rampaul clipping the stumps.

Skipper Mahmudullah and Liton were trying their best to salvage Bangladesh from the horror situation as they are constantly bullied by the fans over social media for the poor show.

But they could not as the experience of Dwane Bravo and Andre Russel, who played hundred of pressure matches throughout their career in various T20 leagues came in handy in the crunch situation.

They both bowled cleverly, cut the boundaries and mixed their bowling lengths well to put the batsmen in deception.

In the last ball of the 19th over, Liton tried to clear the ropes but Holder took a fine catch to end his innings which could earn him redemption if he could succeed.

The inability to handle pressure, score boundaries in death overs and costly misfielding errors ultimately gave Bangladesh another heartbreak as they suffered yet another defeat by only three runs.
