A long-distance swimming competition was organized by the Safe Swimming Academy in collaboration with the Zahedee Foundation
A long-distance swimming competition has been
held in Jhenaidah to raise awareness on swimming learning. The event was organized
by the Safe Swimming Academy in collaboration with the Zahedee Foundation with
the slogan 'Swimming is a life-saving skill'.
The competition started from Khajura Bridge
area of Nabaganga river municipality in the morning. 10
swimmers took part in the competition which is about two and a half kilometers
away. People of different classes and professions crowd on the banks of the
river to see it. After crossing the river for two and a half kilometers, it
ends at Devdaru Avenue in the city. The first to swim was Shuja Uddin of Bhutiargati
village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Mojibur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the discussion meeting presided over by Md Quayum Shahrear Zahedee Hijol, executive member of Zahedee Foundation.

Karim Mintu, Additional Superintendent of Police Anwar Saeed and Sadar Upazila
Nirbahi Officer SM Shahin were present as special guests.
Director of Safe Swimming Academy Mahafuzur Rahman Biplob and Kazi Ali Ahmed Liku conducted the program. At the end of the discussion, prizes were distributed among the winners and participants.
