The Chattogram Challengers were
doing very well under the captaincy of Mehidy Hasan Miraz. But yesterday
(Saturday) suddenly before the start of the game with Sylhet Sunrisers, it was
known that the captain has changed from Chattogram.
Experienced Naeem Islam was given
the responsibility of leading the team by removing Miraz. It was also announced
that head coach Paul Nixon is leaving and will be replaced by pace bowling
coach Shaun Tait.
Then 24 hours have passed. New
news before noon on Sunday (January 30), suddenly uneasy Chittagong camp. Miraz
is not getting along with the franchise and team management. So he wants to go
home without playing BPL.
Chattogram Challengers manager
Fahim Muntasir Sumit confirmed this information this afternoon.
Sumit said that I don't know exactly
why. However, it is true that Miraz wanted to return home without playing in
the BPL. He mailed me too. Miraz Mailed at the end of the match last night.
What did Miraj say in the mail?
Sumit replied that Miraj had informed me in the mail that his mother was ill.
He needs to be by his side, so he can't play.
“Me and the team management then
talked to Miraz,” Sumit added. I am trying my best to convince him. If
necessary, I have offered to bring his mother to Chittagong and keep her near
the same hotel. We have also assured that we will take care of everything
related to her mother's treatment. However, it was not possible to convince Miraz.
However, Sumit did not give up
hope.
Sumit said about the change of
leadership, you see, the captaincy is in the hands of the owner. It is up to
the franchisee and the team management to decide who will lead the team.
Getting emotional about it doesn't just fall into professional behavior.
