Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 16-man squad on Sunday for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which saw Shakib Al Hasan return to the Test side after four matches, reports media.

Shakib, who played in the home series against Pakistan last year, did not travel to New Zealand for the tw0-match Test series. He was included in the South Africa series but could not play due to the illness of several family members.

Besides Shakib’s inclusion, Taskin Ahmed, Shadman Islam, and Abu Jayed Rahi were dropped, with taskin missing out due to a shoulder injury, which he is sustaining from the South Africa series.

The Tigers, in recent weeks, have suffered in the fast-bowling department with injuries as Shoriful Islam and Ebadot Hossain were also injured. BCB mentioned that Shoriful’s availability depended on his recovery, while they are expecting Ebadot to be fit by the time the series starts.
