Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by 17
runs in the first T20I of the three-match series at Harare Sports Club, Harare
on Saturday (July 30).
The hosts, thanks to brilliant
innings of Wesley Madhevere and Sikandar Raza, scored 205 runs by losing three
wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh managed to
score 188 runs by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.
For Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza
smashed a quick-innings of 65 runs from 26 balls with seven boundaries and four
over-boundaries.
Wesley Madhevere hit 67 runs off
46 balls which includes nine four before he went off the field being retired
hurt.
Sean Williams scored 33 runs off
19 balls with four boundaries and an over-boundary.
For Bangladesh, Nurul Hasan Sohan
(not out) smashed 42 runs off 26 balls with a boundary and four over
boundaries.
Litton Das smashed 32 runs from
19 balls with six boundaries. Mosaddek Hossain scored 13 runs from 10 balls.
Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 37
runs off 25 runs with three boundaries and an over-boundary.
Anamul Haque posted 26 runs from
27 balls while Afif Hossain scored 10 runs off 8 balls.
