Shakib Al Hasan Cancels His Contract with Betting Company

Shakib Al Hasan cancels his contract with Betwinner News after BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon's warning. Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had indicated to drop Shakib Al Hasan if he did not withdraw from the contract with Betwinner News, a concern of Betwinner dot com – a betting and gambling platform.

BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon told reporters after a meeting in Dhanmondi on Thursday (August 11).

At that time, he said that If Shakib doesn’t end his involvement with Betwinner, the cricketer will not only have to lose his role as Bangladesh Test captain but also will be restricted from participating in any cricketing activity in Bangladesh. BCB will have zero tolerance for anyone involved in betting.
