Bangladesh got their Twenty20 World Cup back on track on Sunday with a thrilling last-ball win over Zimbabwe, aided by opener Najmul Shanto's maiden Twenty20 half-century and Taskin Ahmed's three wickets, reports AFP.

Batting first, Bangladesh could only manage 150-7, courtesy of Najmul Hossain Shanto's maiden T20I fifty, which he dragged to 71 off 55 deliveries. He was helped by Shakib Al Hasan's 23 and Afif Hossain's 29.

In reply, Zimbabwe lost four wickets within the powerplay, but Sean Williams' fifty and a handy knock from Ryan Burl took them to 16 runs from the final over.

Mosaddek Hossain came on to bowl the final over, and after dismissing Brad Evans, he went for a four off a leg-bye and then a six from Richard Ngarava.

With five required from two, Ngarava missed Mosaddek's delivery and was stumped. In the next delivery, Blessing Muzurabani missed the ball again and was stumped, but replays showed that wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan Sohan took the ball ahead of the stumps, meaning it was a no ball and there was a free hit on the final ball.

But Mosaddek managed to hold on to his nerves and bowled a dot delivery as Bangladesh sealed their second win of the tournament.
