Nepal Edge Past Bhutan in SAFF U-15 Championship

Nepal edged past Bhutan by a solitary goal in their return match of SAFF U-15 Women's Championship held today (Wednesday) at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur.

After the barren first half, Senu Pariyar finally broke the deadlock scoring the decisive goal for the Himalaya Kingdom in the 48th minute of the match.

After the day's victory, Nepal team are now in comfortable position in the points table with nine points from three matches and they will be needed only a draw against Bangladesh in the final match to lift the SAFF title. The match will be held on Friday (Nov 11) at the same venue.

The tournament is being played in a double round-robin format with the team at the top of the table at the end of the round-robin stage will be crowned champions.

Earlier, Nepal thrashed Bhutan by 7-0 goals in their tournament opening match and beat host Bangladesh by 1-0 goal in the second match.
