Cricketer Al-Amin Summoned over Conjugal Rights Case

A Dhaka court today summoned Bangladesh national team cricketer Al-Amin Hossain to be present before the court in a case of restitution of conjugal rights.

Ishrat Jahan, wife of the national cricket team pacer filed the case in the family court of senior assistant judge Begum Kaniz Tania Rupa this morning.

Accepting the case, the court passed the order.

Earlier on August 1, Ishrat filed a complaint in Mirpur Model Thana alleging that Al-Amin tortured and physically abused her for dowry. Also, the victim was forcefully driven out of her house with her minor kids, the complaint said.

After primary investigation and verification police registered the complaint as a case of domestic violence the next day.

On September 6, Al-Amin was granted an eight-week anticipatory bail by the High Court.

The next day, the victim filed another case against the sportsperson seeking maintenance of her and children.

A warrant was issued against him asking him to be present before the court the same day.
