Tigers Choose to Bat First in 2nd ODI against India

Bangladesh captain Liton Das chose to bat first after winning the toss in the second ODI against India today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The hosts aim to confirm the series with a match to go after a thrilling one-wicket win in the first ODI, reports BSS.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the hero as he held his nerve to steer the side to an unlikely victory after staring down the deficit of 51 runs with one wicket at hand.

Liton said Bangladesh are pumped up to seal the series by winning this match as India will be morally down after losing the first game from a position of victory.

"It looks a good wicket, last game we saw it was difficult to bat in the second innings. The boys are pumped up for this contest," Liton said after the toss.

Bangladesh, however, brought up one change to the side in a bid to confirm its second successive home-series win against India with left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed replacing pacer Hasan Mahmud.

To stay alive in the series, India made two changes. Fast bowler Umran Malik came in the place of Kuldeep Sen who complained of back stiffness and left-arm spinner Axar Patel replaced Shahbaz Ahmed.

India captain Rohit Sharma said they will come all guns blazing to level the series.

"We have to play good cricket and I hope bowling first now, we can restrict them to a decent score and bat well," R ohit said.

"Going back to the drawing board and understanding how we need to play on this conditions, just the basic talk about what we need to do with the bat and how to handle certain bowlers. Had good training session yesterday, and hopefully we can come out and replicate those learning."
