Bangladesh bowlers bowled in a disciplined way to wrap up Afghanistan's first innings for just 146 but chose not to follow on in the one-off Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.
Afghanistan still needed 37 runs to avoid the follow-on.
Fast bowler Ebadot Hossain led the charge with 4-47, while left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam, offspinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam claimed two wickets apiece.
Bangladesh, which was bowled out for 382, overall took a 236-run lead.
Afghanistan started the second day on a positive note, taking Bangladesh's last five wickets for just nine runs, but their batters' mindless batting dug their graveyard.
Afsar Zazai scored a team-high 36, while Nasir Jamal scored 35. Karim Janat was the other notable scorer with 21._BSS
