Bangladesh women's cricket team today won their first one-day international match against their neighbors by a score of 40 runs using the DLS technique, three days after defeating India in their first victory in five years.

At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh defended a modest score of 152 runs with the help of young bowler Marufa Akter, who took four wickets for 29 runs.

With five prior losses against its renowned neighbors, this is Bangladesh's first ODI victory in the format.

Shorna Akter was unable to bat because of an injury, but Bangladesh nevertheless managed to post 152 for 9 in 43 overs of this 44-over match. A career-high 39 runs were scored by captain Nigar Sultana.

As a response, India was dismissed for 113 in 33.5 overs, with Marufa and Rabeya Khatun each getting four wickets.
