In the second and final Twenty20 International on Sunday at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh's bowlers made a focused effort to contain Afghanistan to 116/7.

Rain caused the game to be suspended for over an hour and be cut down to 17 overs per side.

Bangladesh's goal, according to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern system, was set at 119 runs in 17 overs.

Taskin Ahmed, a fast bowler, took the initiative, while skipper Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman both got two wickets.

Azmatullah Omarzai scored a team-high 25 goals for Afghanistan.

When Afghanistan was given the opportunity to bat first, Taskin struck twice, leaving the guests at 16/2 before Mohammad Nabi and Ibrahim Zadran put up a fight.

Rain interrupted their efforts to begin rebuilding as Afghanistan was in trouble at 39/2 after 7.2 overs.

Afghanistan appeared to have been mentally distracted by the rain interruption because they kept losing wickets once the game resumed.

With the wicket of Nabi (16), who reached a half-century in the first game, Mustafizur got his breakthrough.

With the wickets of Ibrahim, who scored 22 off 27 balls and smashed a four and a six, and Najibullah Zadran (five), Shakib entered the fray.

Omarzai and Karim Janat's 42-run sixth-wicket stand enabled the team to surpass 100 runs.

As Afghanistan attempted to end on a high note, Omarzai and Janat treated the bowlers with contempt.

However, Mustafizur, who struggled in his first two overs, defeated Janat, who hit two fours and a six during his knock, to prevent them from putting on a grand finale.

After then, Taskin got rid of Janat as Afghanistan was unable to deliver the decisive blow.

The Tigers made two changes to the lineup from last Friday's first T20I at the same location, which they won by two wickets.

Shoriful Islam and Rony Talukdar have been replaced by Hasan Mahmud and Afif Hossain, respectively; Rony is still recovering from a shoulder injury.

The Afghans made one change, substituting Wafadar Momand for Fareed Ahmad.

After defeating Ireland 2-1 and England 3-0 earlier this year, the men in red and green are attempting to win their third straight T20I series.
