Kylian Mbappe's future was further questioned when French champions Paris Saint-Germain left him out of the team for a preseason tour of Japan on Friday.

The reason for leaving out France's captain was not stated by PSG.

Ethan Mbappe, 16, and the club's last remaining star Neymar will both be on the 29-player team that departs for the east on Saturday.

Mbappe has been taking part in the club's preseason training, and on Friday, he played the final 30 minutes of PSG's match against Le Havre at the training facility, scoring a goal.

Mbappe stated in May that he would not renew his PSG contract, which expires next year, but that he did intend to play one more season for the team.

He declared, "I still have a year remaining on my contract, and I'm going to honor it.

That would enable him to leave PSG for free when he becomes a free agent next summer.

Mbappe "must sign a new deal," PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi responded earlier this month, adding, "We can't let the finest player in the world now leave for free. It's not feasible, Khelaifi declared.

With Luis Enrique serving as coach, the club is now under new leadership.

On July 25, they play in Osaka, Japan, against Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian team that Cristiano Ronaldo plays for. Prior to concluding the tour on August 3 in Busan, South Korea, PSG will play Cerezo Osaka in Osaka, Japan, and Inter Milan in Tokyo.

In an agreement worth 180 million euros ($196 million), Mbappe moved from Monaco to PSG in August 2017. Since then, he has become one of the most well-known players in the world.
