During the third and final ODI against India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday, Fargana Hoque became the first Bangladeshi woman to score a hundred in a one-day match.
As the hosts amassed 225-4 in 50 overs, she scored 107 runs off 160 balls.
When Fargana took a double off a Shefali Verma delivery to complete her century off 156 deliveries, it was a historic occasion for Bangladesh women's cricket.
The best ODI score by a Bangladeshi is Fargana's unbeaten 107 off 160 balls. Salma Khatun's unbeaten 75 against the same opponent in 2013 was a Bangladeshi batter's previous high score.
With the series tied at one game each, Saturday's game marks the unofficial conclusion.
After deciding to bat, Bangladesh got off to a strong start thanks to a 93-run opening stand between Fargana and Shamima Sultana. This opening partnership ranks second greatest for Bangladesh in the format after a 113-run partnership between Sharmin Akhter and Shukhtara Rahman against Ireland in Savar in 2011.
Shamima was caught off a Sneh Rana delivery in the 27th over, ending her 78-ball innings with a score of 52, one run short of her career-best ODI total.
For India, Sneh Rana was the pick of the bowlers with 2-45.
