The India-Pakistan match in the group stage of the
ongoing Asia Cup was disrupted by rain. The organizers could not complete the
Super Four match between the two arch-rivals on the last Sunday (September 10)
due to rain. So the match will be held today on reserve day.
The high-voltage India-Pakistan match started at the
scheduled time after the toss. But due to heavy rain, it was not possible to
continue the game for more than 24 overs. Rain hits after the first ball of the
25th over.
After two hours of continuous rain, the sky in Colombo
cleared. After that, the field was also made suitable for playing with the
busyness of the field workers. The game was rescheduled to start at 9 p.m. Bangladesh
time. However, just 2 minutes before this scheduled time, rain struck again. So
finally the umpires announced the start of the match on the reserve day.
Earlier, Team India lost the toss and batted 24.1
overs. They scored 147 runs by losing two wickets. Virat Kohli 8 and KL Rahul
are unbeaten on 17 runs.
Today Monday, Virat and Rahul will start the innings.
No overs are cut due to reserve day matches. In other words, if rain does not
disrupt the match again, India will get a chance to bat 25.5 overs and Pakistan
will have the full 50 overs to chase the runs.
