Mushfiq and His Wife Blessed with Baby Girl

Veteran national team wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has become a father to a baby girl. Both his wife Jannatul Kifayat Mondi and the newborn are currently under intensive care.

Mushfiq himself announced the good news through social media. In a Facebook post, he wrote, 'Assalamu Alaikum... Almighty Allah has gifted us with a daughter. Both mother and daughter are under close observation. Everyone pray for us. '

Mushfiqur got married to Jannatul Kifayat Mondi on 25 September 2014. After almost three and a half years of marriage, they were blessed with a son, Mayan. A week after birth, the child was named Mohammad Shahroz Rahim Mayan.

Meanwhile, Mushfiqur returned home after the Asia Cup Super Four match against Sri Lanka on September 9 to be with his pregnant wife. Tiger captain Shakib Al Hasan is also back. Bangladesh will play their next match against India on September 15. Mushfiq-Shaqib will tour the country during this break. They are scheduled to join the team on September 13.
