An asteroid that is expected to be near to Earth later in 2020 has a 0.41 percent probability of reaching the earth.
The Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said the asteroid is predicted to travel past Earth on November 2, the day before the US presidential election, says Independent.
However, the space agency said it did not think a direct impact was likely based on its observations.

The asteroid, identified as 2018VP1, is 0.002 kilometers in diameter. Thanks to its limited scale, it is not deemed a "potentially dangerous object."
Asteroids or comets that have an orbit similar to Earth that are big enough to inflict substantial geographic impact harm are called extremely dangerous objects.
