US Senate: Facebook, Twitter CEOs to Testify Post-Election

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee announced on Friday that the Chief Executive Officers of Twitter Inc and Facebook Inc. will testify before the November 17 panel on their decision to block the stories of the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's son, reports Reuters.

The Judiciary Committee voted on Thursday to name the two Chief Executive Officers.

Executives will testify to claims of anti-conservative bias, the committee said. The corporations have been heavily criticized by the conservatives for their decision to flag two reports of the New York Post as spreading misinformation.

On October 28, the CEOs of Facebook, Twitter and Alphabet Inc. will also testify before the Senate Trade Committee on crucial legislation to protect internet firms.

Republican President Donald Trump and many Republican lawmakers have continued to criticize tech companies for allegedly stifling conservative voices. Both hearings are aimed at discussing the issue.
