Meta Takes Down Messenger Lite Permanently

Messenger lite has been stopped permanently. After iPhone, this messaging app has been stopped on Android as well. Meta has removed the app from the Google Play Store. As a result, new users are unable to install Messenger Lite.

If the internet speed is low or the mobile network is weak, even if you want to use the Messenger app on your smartphone, you cannot use it. So many people used 'Messenger Lite' app. This app was closed yesterday Monday (September 18).

According to a report by TechCrunch, a message has been sent to users of this app for the past month. That message suggested the users to use Messenger to continue chatting. The Messenger Lite app has already been removed from the Google Play Store for new users. It has been inactive since Monday. No communication can be done through the app now.

Messages were sent to those using the Messenger Lite app for Android starting August 21, a Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch in an email.

Meta, meanwhile, announced earlier this week that it plans to roll out default end-to-end encryption to messaging apps by the end of this year.
