Internet Users Hit Nearly 131M In Bangladesh

At the end of July, the latest data from Bangladesh's telecom regulator revealed that the overall count of internet users in Bangladesh had reached 130.94 million individuals.

According to statistics provided by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), this total consisted of 118.79 million users of mobile internet and 12.15 million users of broadband internet within the country.

During the initial seven months of the current year, mobile service providers in Bangladesh attracted more than 7 million new users, thereby increasing the total subscriber count to 187.48 million by the end of July, as reported by Xinhua.

Presently, Bangladesh boasts four mobile companies, three of which are foreign-backed cellular service providers. The subscriber counts for these mobile operators, namely Grameenphone, Robi Axiata, Banglalink, and Teletalk, were 81.89 million, 56.82 million, 42.30 million, and 6.47 million, respectively, as per the data from BTRC at the end of July.
