Huge Crowd at Kamalapur to Buy Advance Train Tickets

The sale of advance train tickets is underway at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital marking the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. Today, authorities are selling advance tickets for July 6.

A large number of people gathered at the railway station on Saturday to get their hands on advance tickets to their desired destinations for Eid-ul-Azha.

People were seen waiting outside of ticket booths from early hours. The lines of ticket seekers became long.

Bangladesh Railway started selling advance train tickets on Friday (July 1) morning on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.  Selling advance train tickets will continue till July 5. Tickets are being sold from 8.00am to 4.00pm everyday.

Advance tickets for July 5 were sold on July 1 while the tickets for July 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be sold on July 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively, according to sources.

Fifty percent of tickets will be sold from counters and the rest online, they said.

Every person will have to show photocopy of national identity card or birth registration certificate.
