Huge Crowd Still at Kamalapur Today

The sale of advance train tickets for the last day is underway at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital marking the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. Today (July 5), authorities are selling the advance tickets for July 9.

Sources said hundreds of people are suffering a lot as they are in a long queue in front of the counters of Kamalapur Railway Station to get tickets.

Homebound people thronged the station since the evening of the previous day. Pressure on Eid holidaymakers is increasing at the station as the time passes.

The sale of advance train tickets began at 8:00 am which will continue till 4:00 pm. People are collecting tickets from 18 counters.

Advance ticket sales for inter-city trains began on July 1. 

Fifty percent of tickets are being sold from counters and the rest online.

According to sources, people used to gather at Kamalapur Railway Station to fetch train tickets every year. However, in the last two years, this scenario was not seen as tickets were given online due to Covid-19.
