UN Chief: We Must Stop Our War against Nature

“We must stop our war against nature,” UN chief Antonio Guterres said Sunday in Madrid ahead of a key climate conference, warning against the severe impacts of global warming.

“For multiple decades the human species has been at discord with the planet, and now the planet is fighting back,” he said, decrying the “utterly inadequate” efforts of the world’s major economies to restrain carbon pollution.

“We must stop our fight against nature, and science tells us we can do it.”
