Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, after his wife tested positive for the novel coronavirus, governed centrally from his home under self-imposed isolation as the government shut down the Parliament and cautioned against any non-essential travel outside the country.

Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, tested positive for coronavirus after returning from Britain.

He said his wife had slight flu-like symptoms but was doing fine, adding that symptoms may not indicate either he or their three sons.

Trudeau spent Friday from home in interviews, conference calls and simulated discussions like talking to other world leaders and attending a joint debate on coronavirus by the Cabinet commission.

The Prime Minister has remained in contact with his cabinet and officials, unveiling a slew of measures and money to combat the spread of coronavirus.
