Prince Charles Out of Coronavirus Self-Isolation

The Prince of Wales is finally out of self-isolation, following his coronavirus diagnosis.

Prince Charles, 71, spent seven days in Scotland isolating himself after having tested positive and showing moderate symptoms.

Cornwall's Duchess, 72, has been screened and hasn't had the flu, yet should become self-isolated before the weekend.

A Palace official said the prince was in good health and was following the government's restrictions.

"Clarence House has confirmed today that, having consulted with his doctor, the Prince of Wales is now out of self-isolation," a spokesman said.

Prince Charles spent his seven days of quarantine at his Birkhall home on the royal Balmoral estate.

According to government recommendations, everyone with symptoms should isolate themselves for seven days, whilst anyone staying in their household should isolate themselves for two Buckingham Palaces, previously said on 12 March that the Queen last saw her son, the heir to the throne, and was "in good health"

It comes as 159 more people have died with the virus in England, as well as a further six people in Scotland, 14 in Wales and one in Northern Ireland.

More than 9,000 people who have tested positive for coronavirus are being treated in hospitals across England, according to NHS England's Sir Simon Stevens.

In the previous UK-wide report on Sunday, the cumulative number of people who died with the virus in the UK had exceeded 1,228, until the news of the new deaths.

Amged El-Hawrani, a 55-year-old head, nose, and throat specialist at Queen's Burton Hospital is among those who have died. An expert on organ transplants died last week following successful tests for the infection.
