More Than 120,000 Killed by Coronavirus Worldwide

According to a tally compiled by AFP at 1100 GMT Tuesday from official sources, the novel coronavirus has infected more than 120,000 people worldwide, nearly 70 percent of them in Europe.

Since the outbreak first appeared in China in December, a total of 120,013 deaths have now been reported, of which 81,474 are in Europe.

The figures were collated using data from national authorities obtained by AFP and World Health Organization (WHO) information.
