Most of Vietnam's 22 Million Students Returns to School

Most of Vietnam's 22 million students returned to school on Monday after a three-month closure to combat Covid-19, quoting the state-run Vietnam News Service.

Eighteen of the country's 63 provinces and centrally-run cities will expand all schools from now on, while another 30 will be re-opening primary schools and kindergartens when high school students returned in late April.

Ten other locations, including the major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, will reopen primary schools and kindergartens later.

According to VNA, many schools have "rearranged desks while others had to consider dividing classes into smaller ones" but that many schools are facing "difficulties in keeping the minimum distance of one meter among students due to the shortage of teachers and classrooms."

In fact, several schools have modified their classroom schedules and will continue to teach through the internet and televised classes.
