Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he complained of chest pain on Sunday.
Dr Sing was brought to AIIMS at 8.45 pm.
He has been kept under observation at a cardiothoracic ward.
Singh, aged 87, was India's premier for ten years from 2004.
In 2009, Singh underwent a successful coronary by-pass surgery at AIIMS, a complex beating-heart operation that took 14 hours.
