Global Covid-19 Death Toll Reaches 559,481

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, the global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection exceeded 559,481 as of Saturday morning.

So far, 12,461,962 cases have been confirmed worldwide since Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus strain, was first reported in China in December last year.

Although cases of new infections are still on the increase among the infected world population, most of them are in mild conditions.

Among the 4,729,348 people actually infected, 4,670,450 are in moderate condition, which is 99 percent, according to Worldometer's daily reports. On the other side, 58,898 of the patients actually diagnosed are in critical condition and their percentage is just one.

So far, 7,333,038 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 37 people died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours on Friday, with a death toll of 2,275.

In fact, 2,949 more people tested positive for the infection, making a record of 178,443 confirmed cases.
