COVID-19: India Reports 68,898 New Cases, 945 Deaths in a Day

Indian coronavirus case toll climbed to 29,75,701 on Saturday, with a total of 69,878 cases announced by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As many as 945 deaths have been recorded in the country, with a total of 55,794.

Meanwhile, 63,631 recoveries were also recorded, making a total of 22,22,577 coronavirus cases recovered in the country.

The number of open accidents is actually 23.82 percent of the overall incidents, although the country's fatality rate is 1.89 percent. According to data from the Ministry of Health, the country's recovery rate is 74.30 per cent.

In the meantime, India has reached the mark of 1 million Covid-19 checks a day. As many as 3,44,91,073 samples were screened for coronavirus before August 21, according to the Indian Scientific Research Council. On Friday, 10,23,836 samples were checked in India.
