COVID-19: Chinese Mainland Reports 27 New Cases

On Wednesday, the Chinese health authorities reported 27 new Covid-19 cases on the mainland Tuesday – 22 of which were locally-transmitted.

All locally transmitted cases have been identified in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, according to the National Health Commission in its regular survey, reports Xinhua.

Five imported cases were also registered on Tuesday. Two of them were registered in Shanghai and one in Beijing, Sichuan and Shaanxi, the Commission said.

It was confirmed that no death due to the disease or alleged cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Tuesday.

On the day, 17 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

A total of 2,103 imported cases were reported on the mainland by the end of Tuesday. Of these, 2.007 had been released from hospitals, and 96 remained admitted, with two in critical circumstances.

No deaths from the imported cases had been reported.

As of Tuesday, the overall number of reported Covid-19 incidents on the mainland has exceeded 84,491, with 810 people currently seeking care – 36 of them in serious conditions.

A total of 79,047 people were discharged and 4,634 died of the disease on the island, the Commission said.

There were still three suspected Covid-19 cases, it added.

According to the Commission, 23,018 similar connections were already under professional observation after 408 discharges were rendered on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, 24 new asymptomatic cases, including 10 from outside the mainland, were identified and no asymptomatic cases were re-categorized as confirmed.

The commission said 272 asymptomatic cases, including 114 from outside the mainland, were still under medical observation.

By Tuesday, 3,669 confirmed cases, including 42 fatalities, were recorded in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Area (SAR), 46 confirmed cases in the Macau SAR, and 476 cases, including seven deaths, were registered in Taiwan.

A total of 2,141 patients in the Hong Kong SAR, 46 patients in the Macau SAR and 441 patients in Taiwan were released from the hospital after recovery.

Meanwhile, no new confirmed, asymptomatic, or suspected cases of Covid-19 were reported in central China's Hubei Province on Tuesday.
