Death Toll Rises to 154 in Beirut Explosions

The death toll in the massive explosions that rocked the Port of Beirut on Tuesday reached 154, Lebanon's health minister Hamad Hassan announced on Friday.

Hassan said that 20 percent of the 5000 injuries needed hospitalization, while serious cases had reached 120 as broken glasses caused serious injuries that required surgery, the National News Agency reported.

Two massive explosions rocked the Port of Beirut on Tuesday night, killing at least 154 people and wounding about 5,000 others, while causing massive damage to the city.
