COVID-19: Global Death Toll Climbs to 873,223

The novel coronavirus killed 873,223 people in 213 countries and territories after the virus appeared in China last December, according to the latest data from the worldometer.

So far, 26,471,733 cases have been reported, with 18,664,301 people believed to have been rescued from the deadly disease worldwide from 11:00 a.m. to Friday (05:00 GMT).

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 6,934,209.   

For a fresh count of about 24 hours, 5,861 people were confirmed dead from the outbreak, while 288,925 were diagnosed and 217,113 patients were completely treated.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 191,058 deaths, followed by Brazil with 124,729; Mexico 66,329; India 68,569; Italy 35,507; France 30,706; Iran 21,926; Russia 17,528; Indonesia 7,750; Iraq 7,275; Pakistan 6,335; China 4,634; Bangladesh 4,383; Saudi Arabia 3,982; UAE 387 and Malaysia 128 respectively, worldometer reported.
