UK PM Boris to Resign over Low Salary in Spring

The claims comes after Jennifer Acuri yesterday admitted to having an affair with Johnson while he was mayor of London.

Tory MPs have claimed that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson intends to resign next spring as he thinks his salary is too low.

He allegedly complained to his bosses that he had received more than £150,402, which is his new salary and can not survive on it, reports Metro.

Shortly before becoming PM, Johnson received 23,000 pounds a month for his newspaper column in The Telegraph, in addition to the speeches and appearances for which he raked in hundreds of thousands of pounds. In one month alone, he allegedly earned £160,000 for two speeches, according to The Mirror.

But Whitehall's sources told the paper that the PM preferred to wait another six months before he resigned so that he could get a breeze done and see the UK through the worst of the pandemic. One MP said Johnson was worried about raising his six children and sending his youngest son, Wilfred, to Eton, at a cost of £ 42,500 a year. 'Boris has at least six children, some young enough to need financial help,' the MP reportedly said. 'And he had to pay ex-wife Marina Wheeler a shedload as part of their divorce deal.'

Another MP, Johnson, had long followed his dream of becoming prime minister, a 'typical adulterer' who was 'more interested in chase than prize.' No 10 refuted the Metro.co.uk allegations, but refused to comment further. Government officials and former prime ministers will make a great deal of money by speaking out and making appearances on promises. MPs believe Johnson is envious of his predecessors, with Theresa May earning more than £1 million on the lecture circuit since resigning last year. David Cameron gets £120,000 per speech and Tony Blair is currently worth around £22 million due to consultancy work and giving lectures.

The claims came after Jennifer Acuri revealed yesterday that he had an affair with Johnson when he was mayor of London. The business woman admitted on charges last year that Johnson had given her preferential treatment as mayor. The PM escaped a criminal investigation after the police watchdog found no evidence that had affected the award of thousands of pounds of public money to Ms Acuri.
