Global COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 1,603,472

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, the global death count for the novel coronavirus infection reached 1,603,472 on Sunday morning.

In addition, 71,616,205 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed worldwide.

Although cases of new infection are still on the rise among the infected world population, most of them are in mild conditions.

Among the currently 20,002,455 infected patients 19,895,642 are in mild condition, which is 99.5 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 106,813 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.5.

So far, 46,802,521 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 34 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7,020.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 4,89,178 as 1,329 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
