Global COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 2,006,611

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University, global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,006,611 as of Saturday morning.

In addition, around the world, 93,768,732 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed.

Although new infection cases continue to rise among the world's infected population at present, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 24,943,189 infected patients 24,831,701 are in mild condition, which is 99.5 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 111,483 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.5.

So far, 51,639,538 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, during the last 24 hours as of Friday, 13 more Covid-19 patients died, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 7,862.

In addition, as 762 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, the tally of infections has risen to 526,485.
