Global COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 2,088,237

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University, global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,088,237 as of Friday morning.

In addition, around the world, 97,450,362 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed.

Although new infection cases continue to rise among the world's infected population at present, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 25,504,923 infected patients 25,393,622 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 111,301 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 53,682,185 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 16 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Thursday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7,966.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 530,271 as 584 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
