COVID-19: Global Death Toll Reaches 2,227,004

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University, global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,227,004 as of Monday morning.

In addition, around the world, 102,930,055 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed.

Although new infection cases continue to rise among the world's infected population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 26,157,621 infected patients 26,054,131 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 107,988 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 57,015,794 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, in the last 24 hours as of Sunday, 16 more Covid-19 patients died, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 8,127.

In addition, the infection tally has risen to 535,139 as 369 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.
