The overall number of global Covid-19 cases has now surged past 635 million.
According to the latest global data, the total case count mounted to 635,047,235 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,592,278 on Saturday morning, reports UNB.
The United States has recorded 99,331,610 cases so far, while 1,095,166 people have died from the virus in the country, both highest counts around the world.
According to federal health ministry data released on Friday morning, 895 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in 24 hours, taking the total tally to 44,649,983.
The cases reported on Friday marked a decrease in comparison with the daily caseload of 1,625 on Thursday.
The country also logged 12 new Covid-related deaths in 24 hours, taking the death toll to 528,999 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death and 102 cases in the 24 hours to Friday morning.
With the new numbers, the country’s total fatalities rose to 29,418 and caseload to 2,034,968, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
