At least 113 people have died in a fire at a wedding ceremony in northern Iraq, state media INA has confirmed. Another 150 people were injured in this incident. It is heard that the bride and groom were also killed in the fire.

Yesterday Tuesday (September 26) at around 11:15 local time, the fire incident occurred at a wedding ceremony in Hamdania district of Nineveh province, Iraq.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday (September 27) morning, emergency workers are carrying out rescue operations in the building that was burnt during the wedding ceremony. Locals confirmed this information on Wednesday.

Hassan al-Alak, the deputy governor of Iraq's Nineveh province, said that 113 people had been confirmed dead in the fire. However, state media in the Middle Eastern country put the death toll at at least 100 and the number of injured at 150.
