Gun Attack In US, Death Toll Climbs To 22

The death toll from a gunman's attack in the US city of Lewiston, Maine, has risen to 22. City Councilor Robert McCarthy told CNN in a telephone interview that he learned of the information from a text message from a city administrator.

The attacks took place on Wednesday (October 26) night at a bowling alley, a restaurant, and a Walmart distribution center in Lewiston.

Police say the attacker is still on the run. They referred to it as an active “shooter situation”.

Local police have released photos of the suspect and a vehicle believed to have been used in the attack. The images released showed the suspect standing in a shooting position with a rifle in his hand.

The White House said US President Joe Biden has been informed about the shooting. He is constantly monitoring this matter.
