In the 24 hours leading up
to Tuesday morning, Bangladesh reported 23 more deaths and 694 new cases of
Covid-19.
With the latest cases, the
total number of infections reached 1,569,452.
Since the first fatality was
registered in the country on March 18, a total of 27,614 people have died as a
result of the infection.
On Tuesday afternoon, Dr
Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of
Health Services (DGHS), issued a press release revealing this information.
After analyzing 25,499
samples at several facilities in the last 24 hours, the country reported a 2.72
percent positivity rate.
Another 708 persons
recovered from the sickness across the country, bringing the total number of
those who have recovered to 1,520,296.
